How did you get started with art?
I got started as an artist in highschool doing black and white photography. I fell in love with composition and contrast. From there I began experimenting with 2D design and acrylic paint where I incorporated vibrant colors. I enjoy art immensely and love pushing myself to create new things.
How did you discover NFTs?
I discovered NFTs about the same time I discovered Kollect.me which was on Twitter relatively recently.
What made you decide to get involved with NFTs?
Learning that I could make and share art which I love while trading in CKB was a huge push for me. I believe in Nervos Network and Kollect.me and wanted to get in on the ground floor.
So far my NFT journey has been exclusively on Kollect.me and has been overwhelming positive. I’ve sold several NFTs on Kollect.me and the community involvement and support is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I consider myself lucky to be part of this growing artist and collector community.
How would you describe your style? Where does your inspiration come from?
I try to incorporate imagination and feeling into every piece of art, especially with Fred from the TRay collection. I feel like Fred best reflects my style as an artist. I love creating images which challenge reality with an element of humor and sometimes darker feel. I also LOVE color and creating unique color combinations. I think this is best reflected in my Kinglien Collection (a cute little one eyed alien king who bites). I’ve had a lot of fun developing my style these past few months and can feel my style both changing and becoming more solidified at the same time.
What is your creative process when creating an NFT?
I like to start with an idea and a simple design. I start drawing using an iPad and the image starts to take on a life of it’s own. Things change constantly during this process and the final product is often surprising to me and can be very different than what I had planned.
What are your thoughts on the future of NFTs?
I believe NFTs have already begun to change the way people view digital art. With NFTs, artists can create things like images, videos, and animations with limited copies and are able to connect with buyers in a very unique and personal way. I believe things like real world utility will continue to evolve moving forward.
Are there any drops that you are looking forward to?
I’m actively working on all three of my collections and have some special things coming up.
What would be 1 piece of advice that you would give to a new NFT artist?
I would say just focus on the art itself, more than trying to make something that you think will sell. Your style will come out, and like DNA or a fingerprint your style is uniquely yours. I believe what people ultimately want to invest in is the artist.
