Behind the Artist Dimitry Mossman

Dimitry Mossman can be considered an OG of the Kollect.me marketplace, having started out pretty much when we first launched. Since then this artist has been knocking it out of the ballpark with great art being released consistently.

Not only that, he has also spent time focusing on building a community by engaging with them which inevitably has helped his following grow. So without further ado, check out this artists NFT story.

How did you get started with art?

My mother and father abandoned me in Russia when I was 7. I lived in an orphanage with no family or friends. To pass the time and the heartache I drew a lot. Art was an escape from my reality.

How did you discover NFTs?

I discovered NFTs through crypto. I fell in love with crypto about two years ago. I always read about trending topics and what is going on in the crypto world. When OpenSea launched, I wondered why can’t that be me?

But the fees were not worth it for me. So I waited for a while till Kollect.me came along to start my journey.

What made you decide to get involved with NFTs?

I decided to get involved with NFTs because I genuinely felt good when making one. No worries, no problems, just art, nothing else. It’s a fantastic escape. I rejoined Twitter and saw all the amazing communitys and art people were selling. I just wanted to be a part of that.

Can you tell us about your NFT journey so far? Any high’s and low’s to share?

The journey has been a fantastic experience. I started with only 30 followers on Twitter, and with hard work, I managed to grow it to over 530 followers. I have sold out all the NFTs I made except for a couple of giveaways.

That was indeed a fantastic feeling. But none of it would have been possible without the Nervos community. The lows are probably all the scams that go on. I feel bad for anyone that falls prey to it. Please stay safe out there.

How would you describe your style? Where does your inspiration come from?

My style varies on my mood. When I’m happy, I like to draw abstracts. When I’m sad, I want to draw gloomy. Most of my inspiration comes from my imagination and the love for abstract art.

What is your creative process when creating an NFT?

I would have to give some credit to my ADHD for this one! I always have different ideas on my mind. I love using hyper-focus to drive me. It’s how I start every time. So far, it’s been working well!

What are your thoughts on the future of NFTs?

I think NFTs are here to stay. NFTs, do more than just art! There are so many different ways NFTs can be used in the future for music, gaming, social media, etc. The technology is growing, and I’m here for the ride.

Are there any drops that you are looking forward to?

I think Project Kami is incredible and engaging. Kollectme needs more projects like this! I’m looking forward to seeing what comes to the platform in the future.

What would be 1 piece of advice that you would give to a new NFT artist?

Keep working hard, and you will make it.
